- Frame stages. Two-stage and three-stage legs differ in height range and, usually, in stability at full extension. The listing states which it is.
- Stated weight capacity — and whether it includes the desktop. Monitors, arms and a desktop PC add up faster than people expect.
- Height range, top and bottom. The bottom of the range is what fails short users; the top is what fails tall ones. Compare it against your own seated and standing elbow height, not against another desk.
- Motor count. Dual-motor and single-motor frames behave differently under load. The listing says which.
- Warranty term, split by part. Frame, motor and electronics are often warranted for different lengths. The headline number is usually the longest one.
- What's actually in the box. Frame-only and frame-plus-top listings sit side by side at wildly different prices. This is the single most common way people mis-compare standing desks.
